There is a new monthly release of Positron available, and it features a total revamp of the integration between Positron Assistant and GitHub Copilot! I am really excited about this change, because it solves a whole slew of problems with authentication to Copilot, but it does mean that if you were previously authenticated to GitHub Copilot in Positron Assistant, you need to log out and then back in. In this screencast, I walk you through exactly how to authenticate to GitHub Copilot in Positron and then show a brief way to get started with exploratory data analysis with Positron Assistant, using last week’s #TidyTuesday dataset on African languages.

If you were previously authenticated to GitHub Copilot in Positron, you’ll need to both log out and then back in to get set up again, after this new release. If you are interested in experimenting with Positron, either with or without the AI code assistance features, I invite you to download the most recent release and share your feedback with us.
